A Message From Kia Stephens
Hey, Sis! I discovered my love for writing in the pages of my many journals. I had no idea that love would eventually produce a traditionally published book and multiple published devotions and articles. I am a long-time writer for Proverbs 31 Ministries, Encouragement for Today Devotional. My writing has been featured in numerous online publications including ibelieve, Incourage.me, Christianity Today, and Crosswalk.com. Now I use what I have learned to help women achieve their writing goals. In addition to teaching four sessions for this retreat I will also work one-on-one with each attendee to help them gain a clear focus and structure their writing. Sis, I can't wait to help you reach your writing goals.

The Craft of Writing
You've done the research. You've done a brain dump with all your ideas. You've even set aside the time to write. There is just one problem; you have writers block. In this session Kia will walk you through several approaches you can take to structure your writing and develop a plan so you can get unstuck and get writing!
The Heart of Writing
As a writers, there are a ton of things we are focused on. We must grow our audience, work on our craft, get published, and actually write. In doing all of these things, sometimes we forget the most important thing we need to focus on as Christian writers. In this session Kia will talk about the practice of honing our heart.
The Business of Writing
Writing is actually the easy part. Now it's time to determine how we are going to sell our book. After we've sold to our family, friends, and church members how do we get perfect strangers to purchase our book. In this session Kia will talk about strategies she has used to sell her book as well as products and services.
The Discipline of Writing
Leaving the distraction-free environment of a writing retreat and returning home can be difficult if we don't have a plan. This session is dedicated to creating a writing plan for when you return home. This will ensure that you allot time to accomplish your writing goals even with the distractions you will likely face at home.
